wordhoard
the offline word game
one code · any number of phones · no connection

challenge friends

one phone deals a board and shows a QR code, and every phone that scans it plays the same letters. the whole game travels in the code, so it works with no internet at all. that covers a plane, a cabin, or the metro. play round after round and settle it across the table.

hosting: set the board, show the code

the rules

  1. the host picks the board and the clock, then shows a QR code.
  2. friends scan it with the app. the whole game travels in the code.
  3. count down together: everyone presses play at the same time.
  4. every phone deals the same letters on its own, fully offline.
  5. play round after round, and compare scores across the table.

joining a friend’s game

joining: one scan, and you have their board

do friends games need an internet connection?

no. the QR code carries the letters, the clock and the mix, and each phone deals the same boards on its own.

how many people can play?

any number. every phone that scans the code joins the same game, because there are no seats to fill and no lobby to sit in.

how do we play more than one round?

everyone taps “play again” on their own phone. the next board is derived from the same code, so every phone deals the identical letters again.
