the rules of the game

how to play

a guess starts where your finger lands and ends where you lift it. every word is worth its length points, times its rarest letter, times your combo. all of it plays offline.

building words, tile by tile

the rules

  1. drag through the letters to spell; lift to submit. lift anywhere but a letter and the guess is dropped.
  2. each tile is used once per word, or twice if the board dealt it twice. two letters is the shortest word.
  3. longer words pay more, and a word off every letter scores 10 before multipliers.
  4. b f h k v w y are ×2. j q x z are ×3. a word takes its single rarest letter.
  5. each correct word in a row multiplies the next, up to ×5. one wrong guess resets it and costs a point.
  6. on the daily, your first finish is ranked worldwide; the top ten per board size are shown each day.

what counts as a valid word?

any dictionary word of two letters or more, spelled by dragging through each tile at most once per deal.

how does scoring work?

length points, times the word’s single rarest letter (×2 or ×3), times your combo (up to ×5). using every letter on the board is 10 length points at any size.
